Wiring and Home Insurance in Ontario
we are looking into buying an older home (1950's) which has older wiring and receptacles all show open ground when tested. Is this going to be a problem for an insurance?
Wiring and Ontario Home Insurance
Hello,
If you are referring to knob and tube wiring, yes you will have a big problem finding insurance. If you get a policy it will be 3-5 times more expensive due to the wiring. And the coverage will not be as good.
If you buy the house, you will want to address this problem.
Good luck
