Answer - lending your car

Hi Louise,
Most, if not all, insurers allow you to let others drive your vehicle. If it is going to be on a regular basis they need to be added to the policy. But lending your car on occasion is permitted.

If you do lend your car to someone, you are responsible for their actions. In other words, if they have an accident, your insurance rates will go up as a result. And that can have a very significant impact on your rates for six years.

So go ahead and lend your car out, but understand the risk that you will be taking.

Best Regards
