Using Car of My Ex Whose License in Suspended

My Ex just had his license suspended due to medical conditions and this is expected to last for some time, possibly up to a year. I have a car and I am listed as the primary driver and my daughter as the secondary driver. Before my ex had his license suspended, I would occasionally borrow his car. Now that he cannot use the car, I would like to drive it more regularly. Am I covered under my own car insurance? Do I need to be added to his car insurance? But I understand that he is effectively not covered under his insurance now that his license is suspended? Since he gives me permission to drive his car, would I be covered under his insurance?
