I am a student have my g2 currently, i was wondering if i can have a car under my name, but my insurance under a family members name?

If you own the car you'll have to be listed as a primary driver. But your family's insurance policy might be able to insure the car with you as the owner. Many company's will not do this.

Otherwise you'll have to shop around.
