Stunt driving

(Ontario)
I had a road side suspension related to stunt driving/street racing. It went to court and was not convicted of this offense. The final outcome was a speeding fine. My understanding is that this should not impact my insurability and that the rates would reflect the speeding fine. Can you clarify this for me?
Stunt Driving Charge Reduced to Speeding
Hi Linda
Not sure what you need clarified ... it sounds like you have the answer. If the charge on your record is speeding, then your insurance will be affected accordingly (not as severely as a Stunt charge).
If your conviction shows a speed violation of 50kmph over the speed limit, many insurers will refuse to offer coverage. If it is less than that your rates will still be affected. How much depends on your insurer.
Hope that helps?!?
