Student needs to ensure a car

Hi
My family lives back in Vancouver, BC, and I am studying at university here in ON.
I am 18, and have had my license since i was 17, with no tickets or accidents. My studies require me to buy a car, and my parents are willing to buy it for me. Is it possible for them to add this car onto their policy with ICBC in Vancouver, covering me here in Ontario? We plan to buy the car in BC, and we can keep the car registered under my parents name, i will also be taking the car back to BC every summer. I will only use the car for pleasure purposes and not for commuting.

ICBC Insuring a Car in Ontario
Hi Max
You will probably have to get the car registered and insured in Ontario. ICBC would only offer coverage in Ontario for the first couple of weeks that you lived in Ontario. Check with them to confirm of course, but you will likely need to shop around (get an experience letter from ICBC to help with your Ontario rates). Try getting quotes here:
