speeding ticket 137 in 100k zone

I got a speeding ticket 137 in 100k zone, a couple of months ago and have hired a firm to fight it. I have one other seat belt ticket on my record that will come off @ a month after I pay my annual renewal which I have received in the mail and which I will pay before the court date on the new ticket. I expect that the new ticket may get knocked down, but will still probably be 3 points. Is this considered a major? If I pay my renewal are they likely to check and find out about this ticket before next annual renewal in 2012? How much will it increase my annual insurance bill?
