Running a business from home
I am interested in running massage therapy from my home. It would only be myself and perhaps in the future, one other therapist working from here. Do you know if this would raise my insurance rates substantially and if so, do you have a ball-park figure? Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
In House Massage Therapy Business and Canada Insurance
Hi there
This will raise your rates as you will require business insurance coverage, or at least a home business rider on your policy. A home business rider will be $300/yr or more. A stand alone commercial policy will be $750/yr or more. You'll likely need the stand alone policy if you have employees in your home.
Be sure to shop around and get a few quotes. There are many options.
