Renting our home
by Gayle
(Nova Scotia Canada)
We own a house in Saskatchewan but now live in Nova Scotia, we decided to rent out our home, our current insurer will only cover it until January 1st and then we need another insurance policy as they will not insure us any longer if we don't live in SK anymore but i am really struggling to find a company to insure through when you are not living in your home or even in the same province. Any help ??
Thanks
Insuring a Rental Home
Hi Gayle,
This will be a tough one to cover. You will likely have to go to a higher risk carrier. The problem is that you don't live in the province and insurers don't like this situation.
