Removing a Policy Holder who no longer lives at residence

My girlfriend's son was living with us and she insured him under her policy for a vehicle he owns. She is telling me that she is unable to remove him until he has another policy in effect or that there is a waiting period and notification process that needs to be followed. He has already turned down a quote from the insurer to insure under his own name and has been given notice for the last 7 weeks that he is to get off her policy. He chose to leave to live with his father but can not be insured there so is piggybacking on hers. What steps must be taken to remove him from her policy.

Thanks

Removing Policy Holder

If the insurer is being difficult about removing him from the policy, she might have to switch companies. Tell her to give the insurance company one more call and tell them that she will have to shop around for a new carrier if they aren't willing to help.

Otherwise, try shopping around here:
