Refusal To Renew Homeowners Policy - Concrete/Asbestos Siding

Just got a call from my insurance company - they have decided not to renew my homeowners policy due to the siding on my home containing asbestos (the siding was installed in the 1930s, and is intact and well maintained).


Is this a valid reason for non renewal - and what do I do next?

Unfortunately more and more insurers will not accept homes with asbestos siding. It is unfortunate that your policy has been non renewed because of this.

You will have to disclose this to other insurers as you shop around. Hopefully you can find a reasonable rate and good coverage. You can get multiple quotes here:
