Rear ended.

by Kyle
(Ontario)

I was rear ended and pushed into the vehicle in front of me. The vehicle that hit me fled the scene. A police report was done and I wasn't at fault or ticketed. I did have to do a breathalizer and I blew a warning. No charges but I did get a 3 day suspension. My insurance says I may not be covered eventhough I was not at fault, I was hit and I was not considered impaired. Do I have a chance for coverage. I have collision on the car.

Accident and Alcohol

Hi Kyle
Alcohol can be a reason to void a policy. But I believe it is based on 0.8 and up not a warning. You might need legal advice.

FYI, even if you are covered, you may end up being partially at fault for hitting the car in front of you.

I recommend getting legal advice. And Please be sure to discuss this further with a licensed insurance representative. Oh, and by the way, are your rates too high? Check here:
