Rate increase after an Accident

I have rear end someone, There was no damage to their car however about $5000 to mine. I was charged with Careless (Which I will fight). I just wanted to know if anyone had any insight on how much my rates would increase after the claim goes through and I take care of my fines.

Hi Lisa
If this is your only at fault accident, and you have claims forgiveness, and the ticket is reduced to a less serious charge, then your rates won't go up too badly (they will go up if you still have a conviction of some sort).

If you do not have claims forgiveness, expect your rates to double. Maybe more if the careless charge stays on your record.
