Shingles were lost in a wind storm. The entire back side of the roof was covered by insurance and was repaired. However the new shingles at the roof peak are not the same colour so it was necessary to reshingle the entire front side of the roof as well. After their contractor reviewed the situation the insurance company also agreed that the front had to be done in order to match the shingles to make the roof uniform in colour . They have agreed to cover 50% of the additional cost as a "good will gesture". Am I not entitled to 100% reimbursement?

Roof Damage - Matching Shingles

Hi Pat
That is a frustrating situation for sure. But most insurers would not have gone as far as yours did. The shingles are being replace not because they have to be, but because of cosmetic reasons. So most insurers would not cover that portion of the job.
