Occasional UnderAge Driver
by Linda G
(Ottawa, Ont.)
My 17 year old grandson recently got his driver's license. He has been added to his parent's car insurance (Ontario) on both of their cars.
Can he drive my car very occasionally (couple times a year) (My car is licensed/insured in Ontario)?
17 Year Old Grandson and Insurance
Hi Linda
In Ontario, you can loan your car to any licensed driver and they are covered under your insurance. You take full responsibility for any claims they incur though.
Hope that helps
By the way, it never hurts to discuss this with your own insurer.
