Not insured
by Sa,
(mississauga, ont.)
my stepson was involved in a minor fender bender. To my surmise I found out that my now exwife did not properly ensure him under my policy. What can happen to me? Should i let the other party go through with their own insurance rather than me paying for their repair. No injuries were reported.
Stressed.
Accident And Insurance Question
Hi Sa,
It is usually best to go through insurance. When you pay out of pocket you take the risk of no protection if there is a faulty repair or if one of the people involved are hurt.
When the the other party puts in the claim, their insurer will notify your insurer of the claim and it will go against your record (assuming your son was driving your car).
Hope that helps!
