Non-resident auto insurance
by Walter
(Zurich, Switzerland)
I am a Canadian citizen living abroad, my Ontario drivers expired about 25 years ago, I have a Swiss drivers licence. I have a cottage in Ontario, I own an automobile which I leave at the cottage, it spends the winter in the garage. In recent years I have found it very difficult to get reasonably priced auto insurance on my vehical, it costs 3-4 times more than a resident would pay. Apperently there is only company offering insurance to non-residents.
Any ideas?
