Non-resident and House Insurance

Hello,
I own a house in Ontario for rental purposes only. I am finding it very difficult to obtain house insurance because I am now a non-resident of Canada.
How, or what kind of rental insurance should I obtain?
And can you recommend any insurance companies that would be willing to insure my house as a non-resident
Your thoughts on this would be very much appreciated
Natalie
Non Resident and House Insurance
Hi Natalie,
This coverage is going to be very difficult to obtain. As you have noticed. You'll have to shop around aggressively to get coverage. If coverage is available, it will be fairly basic at a high premium.
Try here:

If that doesn't work, you'll need to find a broker who will work very hard for you to find something.
Good luck!
