Non Insured
by Charles
(Toronto,Ontario,Canada)
I was co-signer on a lease for a car. The car was involved in a accident, it was rear ended (not at fault) but the person that leased the car let the insurance lapse therefore there was no insurance. Is the insurance company not obligated in informing the leasing company of no insurance on the car? Is the at fault driver's insurance obligated to pay for the car?
I would like to no because as co-signer I'm obligated to pay.
