Name is on the front but not listed as a driver?

by Amanda
(newmarket, ontario, canada)

I have a G1 licence in Ontario and I will be going for my G2 in a few weeks. In the event I pass I have a vehicle lined up. The question is My ex and I bought a van together so I was part owner. He was first insured with State Farm. They cancelled his policy then he went to another company. For this second company Both of our names were on the mail when it came and under applicants name it shows both his and mine, but under driver information it shows only his name. Does this mean I was on the policy too??? The reason I need to know is when I go to get insurance for my new vehicle they will ask if I have been on another policy in the last 2-3 yrs.

Policy Owner? Listed on Policy?

Hi Amanda
It sounds as though you were considered a policy owner, but may not have been listed as an insured driver. The mail is addressed to the policy owners only. And if you only had your G1 they may not have listed you as an insured driver.

Please be sure to discuss this further with a licensed insurance representative. Oh, and by the way, are your rates too high? Check here:
