i want to have a second vehicle so i dont do as many kms on one car but was told that my son would have to be a primary driver on one , but he wouldnt be so they said my insurance would go up about 400 a month

That's a tough one Jackie. The insurers know it is very unlikely that a car will go unused if there is more than one driver in the house. You can shop around here to see if you can get a better rate:
