Move from BC

My son has recently moved to Ontario from BC. His vehicle was licensed and insured in B. C. Now he is living in Ontario with me. Due to finances at this time he would like to not License or register his vehicle (as we could share mine) Problem is that there is a loan on his vehicle and the financial institution requires that he keep insurance on his vehicle. I have been in touch with a few insurance companies and have been advised that they will not insure a vehicle for fire and theft only, is this correct information?? Any suggestions as to how to deal with this problem would be helpful

Good question!

Because the vehicle is financed, the financial institution will insist on full coverage. Otherwise it would be possible to have Fire and Theft only.
