mandatory for secondary drivers?

If my mother uses her car for work everyday, and I get my G2 license, is it a law that I must get car insurance even if I will not drive? The car insurance is forcing us to pay for my insurance even though my mom uses the car everyday and I won't drive just because we live in the same household.
G2 Driver Listed On Ontario Insurance Policy

It is the standard practise of most Ontario auto insurers to list all drivers living in the house on the policy. Especially the children of the policy holder.
If you truly will not drive the car, ever, you could ask to be excluded as a driver through an OPCF28a. Then you will not be listed on the policy and rates will not go up.
