Life Insurance Beneficiary Question

by Rafael S.
(Tampa, FL, USA)

I have a friend who past away and i never met his family but his brother is telling me he put me on his life insurance and its alot of money. My question is can someone put you on there life insurance with out me being there and also my full name on it?

Life Insurance Beneficiary

Hi Rafael, you can be named the beneficiary on a policy by the policy owner without being there. It seems a little strange that he would not have told you personally though. But if you were named a beneficiary, then the insurance company should pay you accordingly when the death benefit is paid.

Thanks for asking.
