Life insurance after a heart attack
Hi Terry, you need to go to an insurance broker that deals with a large number of carriers, including hard to place (guaranteed issue) insurers.
A good broker will send in a trial application to carriers and receive a preliminary decision from underwriters. If they say no, then you don't apply there. If they say yes, it is not a guarantee but an invitation to formally apply.
If you have been through this, a second option is a guaranteed to issue life insurance policy. The face value is usually fairly low (ie $25,000).
Unfortunately it is tough to buy life insurance after major health problems. It's possible you won't be able to find coverage now.
Your best bet is an experienced broker with lots of carriers.
