Life expectancy of a home

If you own an old farm house that has the original dirt foundation is there a clause in insurance that limits how many years you can insure the home?


For example if the home reaches age 75 or 100 can the insurance company at some point tell you that they will no longer insure your home unless you lift it and have a proper foundation put in? And if so is there anything in writing that tells you what this age is?

This varies by insurer. Some won't insure homes over a certain age. Others won't insure homes with wood or dirt foundations. Those that don't have these factors excluded will still be interested in knowing that the home is in good repair and safe condition and may request to do inspections from time to time.
