if my car goes thru the ice is it covered by insurance? Car Insurance on frozen lakeHi Ed, I'm not 100% sure. It would be under comprehensive or all perils coverage if covered. My guess is that if the lake is used as a public road, established by the MTO during a certain time period, then it might be covered. This is one of those cases where it is best to check with your own insurance company.
