Insurance on a motorcycle not registered in Ontario
by Olaf

Hello,
I recently purchased a motorcycle in the USA. I would like to fly down and ride it back. I looks like I cannot get insurance on the bike if it is not register in Ontario...is there a way around this?
I know in BC there is a "binder of insurance" that would cover me driving it back to Canada...does this exist in Ontario?
Thank you
Binder of Insurance
The "Binder of Insurance" is provided by an insurance broker or agent stating that they are offering the insurance until the policy is issued (that's not a great explanation, but it gives you and idea). I doubt a broker or agent would be willing to offer it in a case like this as they are not supposed to insure a vehicle that is not registered in Ontario. You can ask though ...
