Increase in auto prices

My agent keeps increase my car insurance every 6 months as my renewal is every 6 months - so whenever I get it renew i'll get and increase and whenever I ask them, they tell me due to government increase -


So my questin is : did the Ontario government increase the car insurance for 2011 twice ? was there an increase in July or in the first half of the year? or in the 2nd half of the year.

pls respond as soon as possible, as I want to change my agent as my renewal is in January 2012

or provide me with a number I can contact to check about this matter. whom should I contact to ensure what they are claiming about the Ontario government increament for the auto insurance.

Auto insurance rates are set by the insurer, with approval from the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. So it is not quite accurate to say it is the government raising rates.

FSCO allows insurers to review rates quarterly.
