Impact of changing companies after a not-at-fault accident with health issues

My wife was hit from behind while sitting at a red light and has not worked since. She is a nurse - a job requiring heavy lifting - and it may take her some time to get back to work. It's been over 6 months so far. She has made some progress with physio and massage, but our current insurance company has cut back her rehab services and her improvement has slowed. We are not pleased with this decision taken by the insurance company. Since our insurance will expire in August I was wondering if we can even consider moving to another company while we are in the midst of rehab and a possible (if necessary) lawsuit? Your expertise in providing advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Changing Carriers After An Accident
Hi Paul
I don't think there is anything to stop you from changing insurers while the claim is still open. But if I were you, I would stay in the same spot until everything is cleared up, unless your lawyer tells you its okay.
Sorry to put it back to your lawyer, but we try to offer very general guidance, not specific insurance advice - let alone legal which is beyond the scope of this site.
