in the winter how often must you have your house checked when you are absent

House Insurance and Vacations

Hi Joe
This varies by policy. But most say every 3-4 days. No matter what time of year.

Hope that helps.

I specifically checked with my company (above title) and was told that a Premium plus coverage rider would cover me without having the house checked daily. I have a 7/24 monitored alarm system including low temp/water/smoke. I have used this for at least ten years.

Is there a standard name for this type of coverage?

I will be changing insurance companies and want to find this same coverage elsewhere.

Does this mean that, if my house was struck by lightning and burned, and I had not had my house checked while I was away for a month, that the insurer could avoid payment?
