Help, I want to insure a driver who does not live with me?
by Becky
(Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
My common law husband and I are separated, and he is not living with me, but we both reside in Toronto Ontario Canada.
However, I want to continue to insure him on my vehicle (he does not have one) as he often takes our 3 kids places that require a vehicle.
When we were living together we were both insured on the vehicle, and he was the primary.
Can I legally insure him if he is at a different address?
Insuring Ex Husband On Auto Policy
Hi Becky
You can have him listed on your policy. And you should list him since he is driving the car on a regular basis.
Just be sure to disclose the situation to your insurance company.
Please be sure to discuss this further with a licensed insurance representative. Oh, and by the way, are your rates too high? Check here:
