Have a failing to remain accident with a commercial tow truck

by SJ
(Ontario)

I was at work doing a tow job for my company and was recorded hitting a bumper in a hospital parking lot which I did not see or have any idea it happened. It was on video camera and I was charged and lost 3 points.
I have a separate policy for my personal vehicle and would like to know what to expect. First ticket in 5 years.

Answer: Failure to Remain and Insurance Rates

The ticket, "Fail to Remain", is a serious conviction.

Many insurance company's will not be willing to take your business in the next three years as a result.

And it is possible that your current auto insurance policy will be canceled at your next renewal. Especially given the current market conditions.

If it is not too late to challenge this ticket, it would be a good idea to do so. If your current policy is canceled your only other options are likely to be three times the price!
