Hard to insure house because of two claims

I had two claims placed with my insurance company, now they don't want to insure me and I've been getting quotes for 2000 and up. The house is in my name, but it is a matrimonial home. Can my wife put insurance on the house in her name even though she is not on title

The insurers check the claim history of the property as well as the policy holder. So even if you could put the policy in her name, they would know that there is a claim history associated and charge accordingly.

The only thing you can do in the short term is shop around at your renewals. And you could go with a higher deductible.
