G1 driver

by S.K.
(Ontario, Canada)

I've had my G1 for over a year, i got a suspension (i was driving with a person i Thought had a G license, and didn't they only had a G2 and i got a ticket for not driving with proper licence driver) I've payed my fine and payed my reinstatement fee, how much will i pay for insurance? And who would take me on? I'm going for my G2 on May 26th 2011, and I'm a female if that helps at all.

Suspensions at G1 level NEW
by: Anonymous

Female's generally are lower in premium.

However, someone that has had a license suspension is High Risk/Facility Risk and gender may not be relevant at that point. It depends if your broker has an insurance company that recognizes a G1 driver as a valid license operator or if they start viewing G2 as a valid license class. This may determine if you fall under the rules of a licensed operator and can be rated for a suspension if not recognized as such. A question to ask a broker....

I know of one company that suspensions stay on for 6 years when it is not administration related ie: tickets, 3 day etc..

Hope that helps
