Failure to stop at a stop sign
by Christina
(Elliot Lake )
I thought I had come to a full stop, but the officer who pulled me over says otherwise, so I got a $110.00 ticket. I believe this means 3 demerit points as well. My understanding is this is considered a minor offence by most insurance companies and should not affect my premium. Is this true? Up to now, a clean driving record. Single mom, two jobs, concerned about how i can afford a premium increase let along how i'm going to pay this ticket. Appreciate your input on the premium issue.
Stop Sign and ticket
Hi Christina
Good news, one ticket will have a tiny impact on rates with most insurers. But be careful not to get a second ticket.
