Expired car insurance
by Jenny
(Toronto)
My insurance card says it expires the 28th but my brother received a letter saying its the 23rd, how is that possible if my insurance card says the 28th.
Also lets say I get a ticket for driving without insurance on the 29th is there a grace period for renewal in Ontario or will I get charged with a first offense.
Thanks.
Ontario Car Insurance Expiry Date
Hi Jenny
You better go by the letter. There might have been a typo on the card.
In your example, if you got pulled over on the 29th you would be charged. There is no grace period, either your coverage is in force, or it's not.
