Driving with no Insurance

by Amber
(Sarnia ON)

If I have a car and insurance in only my name can my boyfriend, who has no insurance, no car, full license and is over 25, drive my car?

Thanks,
Amber

Allowing Boyfriend to Drive Car

Hi Amber,
You should notify your insurer that your boyfriend will be an occasional driver. It's better to be up front about these things.

Besides, in the long run it is better for him if he builds an insurance history by being listed on your policy.
