Driving Father's insured car

by Sarina
(Toronto, Ontario, Canada)

I am not insured on my fathers car, however if my dad gave me permission to drive in his car for the day and say I got into an accident that was not my fault, what would happen? Would his license be suspended?

Answer to Driving Father's insured car

If you are living with your father, then you should be listed on his policy. But if you are just visiting for a day and take the car out, with his permission, then the worst that should happen in the event of an accident is his rates going up (which can be substantial).
