Driving Conviction
by Marge
(Ottawa, Canada)
I received aa driving conviction for following too close, paid a fine and lost 4 points, for a period of two years. This following too close resulted in a rear end collision and occurred in 2007. How will this affect my auto insurance premium?

Hi Marge
Until the accident is over 6 years old, your rates will be affected quite a bit. Each year gets a bit better. But expect six years of paying much more. The ticket is on your record for 3 years.
Hope that helps.
