Drinking and driving
(Ontario)
hi. i got 3 fines for drinking and driving (all at once). one for consuming alcohol under the age of 19, one for drinking with a class G2 license, and the last for drinking and driving under the age of 22. Although this sounds pretty serious, the police told me that this is basically a big warning and the fines only came to $300 all together. Since I have no charge on me and no criminal record, is my insurance company allowed to increase my policy substantially?

If you didn't blow over the legal limit, this won't be the most severe incident.
But you will almost certainly have your insurance canceled and most carriers will likely refuse to cover you. This will leave you with the mid to high risk carriers and your rates will probably be at least double what they are now.
