Do I need to call my insurance
by Michael
(Toronto, Ontario)
I rear ended a car in front of me. There is no damage to my car but the car in front of me does have some damage. With no fault insurance, he will call his insurance company and they will pay for it. I have no damage, so I see no need to call my insurance company, since I have no claim to make. Will my insurance company find out about the accident if I do not call them?
Informing your Insurer
Hi Michael,
Your insurer will find out from the other insurance company. If you don't have claims forgiveness your rates are likely to rise at you renewal as you will be considered at fault by your insurer.
Sorry to give you bad news.
