Critical Illness Insurance In Canada - Up to $2million coverage - or your money back!

Critical illness insurance (CI Insurance) was developed by Dr. Marius Barnard. Dr Barnard was the brother of Christian Barnard -the first doctor in the world to perform a successful heart transplant surgery.

Dr. Marius Barnard saw that many patients who had heart transplant surgery suffered financially from lost income and increased expenses due to the cost of treatment and changed lifestyles.

He approached a life insurance company in South Africa (where he lived) and together they created critical illness coverage. The intent of the first CI insurance policy was to financially support patients before, during and after treatment by providing lump sum benefit, paid when a critical illness was diagnosed.

About 20 years later CI Insurance became available in Canada.
