I live in Florida, someone from Ontario hit my parked car. They admitted fault to their insurance company and a claim has been filed. Their insurance agent is saying that they will not issue a check directly to me, only to a repair shop. Is that correct? Here, in the U.S , the at fault insurance carrier just issues you a check for the amount of the damages!! Repairs in USAHi there, I believe this is at the discretion of the insurer.
