My boyfriend house was destroyed in a fire, I live there and still have a another home, so I had 2 dressers at his place full of my clothes, most of my clothes were there, they all were not burned but smoke damage, at the time we were told just to leave it, that would be reimbursed for everything..He is totally covered with insurance, now 3 months later and after they had gone back and forth with the content list, they said we would not get the money for any of my clothes...how is this possible?

House Fire and Contents Insurance

Hello Yvette,
Sorry to hear about the fire and the problems with your claim.

The most likely reason they are not covering your clothes is that you are probably not listed on the policy. Many policies only cover the policy owner, immediate family living in the house, and any other listed people.

Hope that helps a little.
