Commerical Auto Insurance and Part time Business Ue of Auto
Can you tell me what coverage is required if i drive my personal car part time for work? I do not do deliveries just go to meetings.
Driving Personal Car for Work and Auto Insurance
It is okay to drive your personal vehicle for work. But you need to disclosed the use of your vehicle to your insurer so they can rate your policy accordingly. For example, if you used your car for pleasure use only (no commute), you might be rated a 1 (best). If you commute to work, you might be rated a 2 or 3 depending on your overall mileage. If you use a car for business you will probably be a 7 or possibly a 3.
I doubt that you need a commercial auto insurance policy. But you do need the business use noted to avoid problems at time of claim - or worse - problems after a claim due to misrepresentation allegations.
