cheaper insurance as seconadary driver
by Gert
(Hillsdale, Ontario)
I have been paying about $150 a month on my 2009 Hyundai Accent.I have 5 speeding tickets in the last 2 years. My insurance company says they will not insure me and a broker told me that I would have to pay over $600 a month with any other company. What if I switch ownership to my Mother and I become a secondary driver will we have to pay the same or can we (my Mother and I) get a better rate. What should I do?
Canceled After 5 Tickets
Hi Gert
With 5 tickets it will be tough to get a better rate. Your mom's insurer would insist on putting you as primary too. I recommend avoiding mixing your mom up in this.
