Cheap insurance for 17 year old

by Kevin
(Chatham, Ontario)

Hi, I am 17 and need cheap insurance? Where can I get cheap insurance. I want to buy a car and have my G2. Thanks

Answer

Hi Kevin

Unfortunately car insurance for a seventeen year old is expensive. Insurance companies follow decades of statistics that show that teenage drivers are far more likely to have a serious accident than most other drivers. So you can blame your parents (kidding of course).

Seriously though, it is expensive. If you take a drivers training course it will help to reduce your rates. And if you want to buy a car it is usually less expensive to buy an older model vehicle.

Be sure to get some Car Insurance Quotes before you agree to buy any car. Some young drivers buy the car and then look for car insurance only to find that the insurance payment is much higher than the car payment!

You can read more about your situation at: Teenage Car Insurance

Hope that helps!
