Car insured in BC moved to Ontario

I gifted and shipped a car from BC to my step son in Ontario. It had to be insured for the shipment and so it remained in my name. How long has he got before he must insure it in his name in Ontario?
Insuring a car in Ontario
Hi Wendy,
Thanks for your question. According to the Province:
"New Ontario residents have 30 days before they have to register their vehicles and get Ontario licence plates and vehicle permit."
In order to get this done he will need insurance.
Hope that helps.
