Car Insurance

Iam a 45 yr old female who needs to get car insurance, but its been at least 15 yr since I had insurance in my name. Is there any thing that I can do so my rates are not high. Some quotes have been 5-6 thousand dollars and that seem crazy.....

First Time Insured in 15 years

Wow that's high!

You could get listed on a family or friends insurance policy for a little while so you have an "insurance record". Or get a very short term policy (eg 3 or 6 months) to get an insurance record.

Please be sure to discuss this further with a licensed insurance representative. Oh, and by the way, are your rates too high? Check here:

Insurance in Your own name or listed
by: Anonymous

Not everyone has owned a car of their own, there are many that have vehicles listed in their husband's name for many many years. However, that doesn't mean that you haven't had insurance. If you have ever been listed on an insurance policy you have had insurance.

I find the premium you were stating to be very high, unless you are a core area of a large city with some issues with driving record/level.

But maybe you can get a copy of a time you were listed as an operator/driver, not just one that you were the named insured?
